Fans of the PS1 classic Breath of Fire 4 can breathe a sigh of relief, or fire, or fiery relief, or reliefery fire, or... never mind. Breath of Fire 4 is scheduled to launch August 16 on PSN in the United States, according to a forum post from Capcom Senior VP Christian Svensson. Svensson also revealed that Breath of Fire PSN avatars will be available for purchase on launch day, "to celebrate," probably because fireworks would be too predictable.
The up-coming issue of Shonen Jump magazine will feature and confirm Young Kakashi, Minato, and Obito Uchiha will be in Naruto Shippuden: Ultimate Ninja Storm Generations! At this point it’s unclear whether they will be playable or just support, but if use Ultimate Ninja Heroes 3 as a baseline, we’d guess they will be playable. Also, from our understanding, the magazine will have Mangekyo Sharingan Sasuke with Susanoo and Naruto firing a Rasenshuriken.
A TimeSplitters 4 revival may be soon on be the horizon. According to the ‘Rumor Machine’ section in the Official PlayStation Magazine UK’s August 2011 issue, as spotted by Connected Consoles, the game is due for an announcement soon.

Blockbuster UK posted this advertisement which seems to suggest that the Vita is set to release in the UK well before 2011 is over. Is it true ? only time will tell.
In Mass Effect, the decisions you make matter. Do you sign an autograph or do you ignore a fan? Do you kill off the last of a species or risk them overrunning the galaxy ? Do you stick your doodle in Jack or Miranda ? On the gender flip, do you ride Thane until he turns a new shade of green or do you take pity on Garrus ? Regardless of your characters gender, you can even try for the Samara/Morinth double-whammy, which rewards you with high fives and free drinks for life.
Mass Effect 3 is going to take things even further. Way, way further…
With ME3 still more than half a year away, the game will undoubtedly go through a number of changes and revisions before it launches. That said, the latest details leaking out seem to indicate that ME3 will include more character side quests, interactive moments and consequences than ever before. Don’t worry though, everything that made ME2 so great (mining) will return as well.
Here are some of the highlights from the recent detail leakage:
Apparently three playable characters in Mass Effect 3 have the capacity to become pregnant. Whether or not they actually give birth in ME3, or in a later DLC pack (baby DLC!), is unclear. So too is the wording regarding the gender and race of the three characters in question. “Both male and female main characters will have the ability to become a parent; with humans or a non-human (unisex option).” Hmmmm… do I want Miranda to give birth to little ice cube babies or do I want to see how good Jack will look when her tattoos stretch out like silly putty ? Can two ladies get pregnant? There’s a cutscene for you! Of course, it could end up being Garrus and Grunt for all we know, and to be fair, it would probably be pretty intense. Though you can always just use a space condom…
This one raises all sorts of questions given how vague the details are. One playable character has an illness that can either be cured or spread through certain interactions with the rest of the crew. The nature of the disease is unknown as are the consequences (i.e. can you die from the disease ?). Given the backgrounds of the crew, Space Herpes is not out of the question (looking at you Garrus). It could be Elephantiasis or Mudd-Butt for all we know. I think I’ll keep my helmet on and my visor down!
Oh hell yes! Word is two crew members can be killed by one of several different secondary characters during special game sequences. Kasumi vs. Thane? Zaeed vs. Grunt? EDI vs. Joker ? Epic!
Tali’Zorah vas Neema
Last, but not least, we have Tali. Will they ever show her face? What does she look like ? Unfortunately BioWare is still tight lipped about what’s going on with Tali.
K Yamauchi san posted this message on twitter:アップデート準備中です。まず不具合修正、その次は機能アップデートとDLCか。巨大な制作システムのスタジオ分散は思ったより大変だ・・・。RT @iwan_gt_celtics: @Kaz_Yamauchi 福岡への移転が終わったらアップデートと次回作の製作頼みますよ！
Which translates to:Updates coming soon. First bug fixes, feature updates and DLC or the next. Huge studio production distributed systems is difficult than expected. RT @iwan_gt_celtics: @I ask you have finished production of his next transfer to Fukuoka and the update Kaz_Yamauchi!
From what I gather it seems Kazunori is letting us all know Polyphony Digital has been busy moving the studio to a new location and we can expect GT5 updates soon which features Updates and DLC.
Gran Turismo 5 was released 10 months ago and I’m sure the whole GT5 community are ready with wallets poised to purchase the new DLC whatever it maybe. Sources suggest we could be expecting up to 24 tracks to be added by way of DLC and possibly new cars too.
Samsung will be manufacturing the CPU for the PlayStation Vita, according to a blurb that appeared at the website for electronics industry newspaper The Semiconductor Industry News. The CPU will make use of a 45 nanometer manufacturing process.
Vita is due for release somewhere in the world before the end of the year. Current popular speculation has the system launching first in Japan, where its predecessor, the PSP, enjoys continued success.
Earlier this month, Electronic Arts Europe VP Patrick Soderlund teased a new Mirror’s Edge in development. Today, a rumor from Official PlayStation Magazine claims that project will utilize DICE’s Frostbite 2 engine — or, the same engine that powers Battlefield 3.
“The Frostbite 2 engine will pave the way for Mirror’s Edge to make a free-running return,” wrote the magazine.
Mirror’s Edge released in January 2009 for PlayStation 3, Xbox 360, and PC.
“Wow, 60 fps on HD is great!” Metal Gear Solid creator, Hideo Kojima, this morning, alongside a picture of Metal Gear Solid: Peace Walker HD. The PSP version of Peace Walker only runs at 30 frames-per-second, but it appears the HD version included in the Metal Gear Solid HD Collection will be running at 60.
Kojima excitedly followed up with a few more tweets. His next one read: “Ooh, HD, 60 fps, and vibrancy! Moves smoothly! Recoil of the gun is fun! It seems she wants to have a word as well. http://t.co/f1rw5Cn”
Kojima then revealed a little tidbit regarding the development history of Metal Gear Solid 2. “My favourite VFX supervisor and director: Douglas Trumbull advocated the system ‘show scan’ with which you can materialize 60 fps with 70mm [film] long time ago,” Kojima tweeted.
“I think he was saying “Our brains recognize it as real when it goes above 45 fps” or something lijt that. So, I pushed 60 fps for MGS2 to make it alive.”
Kojima then brought up Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater. “Tried 60 fps on PS2 ver. ofMGS3 like MGS2, but since it was really hard to draw the jungle and to handle collision, I had to make it to 30 fps reluctantly,” he revealed. “However, you can playMGS3 with realistic sensation which is ‘show scan-ish’ via HD ver. at last.”
“I always go for realistic sensation,” Kojima stated. “No matter how you devote the number of polygon, clear up textures and improve graphic, it is just a beautiful film set.”
